READ: Why community members support my campaign
I am grateful to the members of our community who have recently sent Letters to the Editor in support of my campaign. Working together, we are achieving great things for our community!
From Ray Swift:
Mark Olson is a dedicated supporter of our veterans and our families. I am Ray Swift, an Army combat veteran, and I work closely with fellow service members throughout the community. Over the years, I have come to know and appreciate Mark Olson’s unwavering commitment. He advocates effectively at the County level to ensure we are well cared for and respected, and he consistently participates in our community events. Throughout his time as Mayor of Fayetteville and now as a County Legislator for District 10, Mr. Olson has demonstrated genuine dedication and authenticity. He takes the time to listen and understand the community’s needs. He champions essential projects and maintains transparency about the challenges faced by County government. I trust Mark Olson implicitly to represent our community’s interests. I encourage you to support him once again this year.
From Gwyn & Patrick Mannion:
We have had the privilege of working with Mark Olson at the Fayetteville Fire Department and other community initiatives for well over two decades. We have learned, day in and day out, Mark cares deeply for the people of our Town and his County. In addition to working hard, Mark pays attention to those he serves. He knows how important public safety is to all the residents in Manlius and Onondaga County because he listens and pays attention to the many constituents with whom he interacts. Manlius enjoys a well trained, professional and effective police force. Onondaga County enjoys a Sheriff’s Office that is working with record funding and investment, in many ways due to Mark’s leadership as the Chair of the Legislature’s Public Safety Committee. Public Safety is always in the news and Mark brings an open mind and many years of experience in governing to bear when we are searching for reasonable and actionable solutions to real problems. Mark is an advocate for safer communities. As a member of Fayetteville Fire & EMS he has been an active practitioner and supporter of the hundreds of career and volunteer members who provide that important service 24/7/365. His concept of service extends beyond political office. We have worked with Mark as he has supported the Samaritan Center with everything from elbow grease, to food, to advice and counsel. He has done the same for the Fayetteville Senior Center (just two of his many community involvements). He works quietly and humbly to make a difference. Mark’s experience is extensive and impressive. His character is respectful and assertive. Our community has been well served by his time in office and we look forward to another term with Mark Olson as our County Legislator.
From Ed Theobald:
My experience working with Mark Olson began when he was first elected as the mayor of Fayetteville in 2004 and I was elected as a village trustee in Minoa. In 2010, I was elected town of Manlius supervisor. We continued a productive working relationship for another 12 years. Olson has always proven to be a dedicated, committed and hard-working civil servant with only the publics best interest in mind. Critics of Olson have stated many inaccuracies in their attacks as he runs for re-election. Knowing him for all of these years, I can state with confidence that when it comes to the issues, he would not “rubber stamp” or give special treatment to proposals by the county executive. His understanding and thorough study of the issues guides him in his voting decisions. Olson is readily available to his constituents, especially with his numerous times during the year when he speaks before the town of Manlius and the villages of Minoa and Fayetteville boards, informing each municipality what is happening in the county. His social media activity is second to none through Facebook, Instagram and X. As to the cries that Onondaga County needs change, Micron is bringing one of the largest economic development projects in U.S. history to Onondaga County, which is spurring growth throughout the county. Millions have been spent upgrading our infrastructure and repairing our roads. Our Main Streets are getting facelifts. High-speed internet is being brought in for all. Olson’s focuses are on three pillars of a good community. They are first: public safety. This includes law enforcement, fire, and EMS. Second: education, supporting East Syracuse-Minoa, Fayetteville-Manlius and Onondaga Community College and their mental health concerns in our schools, working hand-in hand with these districts to help them with their mission of educating our children in a safe environment. The third pillar is quality of life and economic development. I strongly endorse Mark Olson, and ask you to vote for him to continue as our county legislator in the 10th District.
